When it comes to 2D drawing, there are a lot of things that you must learn before you start doing it on a professional level. The reason for that is because once you start doing this for a living, you cannot afford to embarrass yourself by making these rookie mistakes. If you do these mistakes all the time, people will realize that you are actually not a real professional and that you don’t really know what you are doing. Well, if you stick to our advice and follow the steps below, you might become a better 2D artist and designer.
Know the Right Dimensions
No matter what are you designing or drawing with a 2D software, you always want to know the right and exact dimensions that you need to follow. Otherwise, you will be giving out to people something that they have not wanted. This can be really bad for you, especially for your career if you are starting up.
The word will quickly spread that you are not a guy to trust with 2D designs and soon you will lose all of your clients. A simple question is all that it takes to perfect your design before you start making anything, make sure that you ask a client for the exact measures and dimensions. Then, when you are finished, you can present a project that reflects who you are and how good of a 2D artist you can be.
One of the key tips that we can give you is to don’t add things to the 2D design or a drawing that the client didn’t ask for. If you do, then make sure that you can easily remove it without ruining the rest of the design. If you do it that way, then it is alright because you are able to remove it in case your client doesn’t like it.
However, if you make it so it is a permanent addition that you cannot remove, then you might be in trouble. Nobody wants to have a different design, if someone orders a specific design, then make sure that you don’t complicate things for yourself.
